Job Description

Due to expansion and internal growth our client based in Scunthorpe is looking to recruit an experienced, talented and pro-active Individual to Head up their Business Development Team with a view to further improve the company’s market position and to achieve further market growth and success.

Responsible for building and developing the team to meet set sales targets, the Individual will define long-term strategic goals in agreement with the Directors to build further on key customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Office based Scunthorpe / Home Based with extensive travel required

  • Responsible for the strategic growth of the business
  • Develop an effective sales strategy to build a high-value pipeline
  • Monitoring competitors and reviewing the companies offering in light of competitor’s developments
  • Ensure sales targets are set, agreed and met
  • Manage and motivate your team to achieve overall sales team performance against agreed objectives
  • Monitor figures and create accurate forecasting
  • Identify, develop and manage relationships with potential customers, influencers and the decision makers
  • Ability to communicate in a range of mediums to all appropriate levels up to and including Director level
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers
  • Manage proposals, submissions and bids ensuring these are prepared and submitted within agreed time-frames
  • Ensure that all proposals are followed through to conclusion, obtaining feedback
  • Continually develop our brand and build increased awareness in the market place
  • To lead marketing activity and budget


  • Full driving licence


  • Proven sales track record of securing profitable new business in a business to business environment
  • Experienced networked with good negotiation and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of actively managing a sales team
