Our client based in Hull, an independent growing company, are looking to employ a Material Controller for an exciting position within their organisation on a permanent basis.

You will be a key member of the team coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials between various departments. Fantastic opportunity!

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Thursday, 0800 to 1630 & Friday 0800 to 1300

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe delivery of goods and checking all materials upon arrival
  • Check that all products are properly packaged, labelled and stored
  • Your core responsibility will be to examine products/materials for compliance
  • Keep a track of inbound and outbound materials
  • Keep and maintain detailed records relating to the shipment or receipt of materials, confirming the quantity and quality of items sent and received
  • Accuracy of inventory controls
  • If applicable, weigh and measure products keeping precise records
  • Ensuring the work area is properly prepped and ready to receive in the inventory
  • Maintaining materials in an organised manner ensuring all products/materials have and are being accounted for
  • Place orders, chase for materials, update purchase orders
  • Communication with different departments and helping to meet production schedules

Education

  • Must have knowledge of computer programs and material control equipment
  • An understand of creating, compiling and maintaining manual and computerised records
  • Essential you are numerate and literate
  • A valid forklift licence would be an advantage but not essential

Experience

  • Previous experience working within a warehouse as a materials controller (minimum 2 years) and/or similar roles (ie, stock controller)
  • On the job training will be provided to understand the products
  • Experience of Health and Safety and Manual Handling within a warehousing environment
  • Proven record of customer service experience
