Job Description
Our well establish client; sector leaders in their field, have a great opportunity for a MECHANICAL FITTER JOB IN GAINSBOROUGH. They are seeking to recruit a versatile Mechanical Fitter with packaging, robotics and electrical experience to join their engineering team.
Salary Negotiable
You will be joining a team of engineers to support in the planning, design of new and existing products and equipment. Primarily performing various fitting and assembly tasks in a busy, modern manufacturing facility.
You will be enthusiastic, energetic, motivated and hard working with excellent time keeping skills who enjoys working as part of a team as well as organised. This role will suit you if you are keen to maintain high standards and have a hands-on approach.

Job Summary
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday, days (overtime available outside of these hours)
Responsibilities
The following are a list of responsibilities for the Mechanical Fitter jobs in Gainsborough :
- Mechanical assembly of component parts, in sub-assemblies as well as overall machine builds, and pre-delivery testing of them
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, models and BOM’s, and to build assemblies and machines from the information provided
- Ability to dismantle and overhaul used assemblies and machines
- Knowledge of pneumatic / hydraulic systems
- Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area
- Completing given tasks safely and efficiently
- Ability to work to deadlines to meet business objectives
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Interaction with other departments such as design, electrical etc
- Option to travel in the UK or overseas for machine commissioning
Education
- A relevant mechanical Apprenticeship and / or industry experience
- Knowledge of conveyor systems
- A knowledge of equipment, processes and materials
- Knowledge of pneumatic / hydraulic systems preferable
- Electrical knowledge would be an advantage but not essential
Experience
- Packaging, Robotics and Electrical experience required
- Previous mechanical engineering experience
- Relevant previous mechanical fitting experience
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Proven record of maintenance, problem solving and installations
- Experience working on packaging machines (DESIRABLE)

- Able to overcome problems, spotting errors quickly, analysing them to establish the root cause and resolve
