Job Description

Our client is offering a fantastic opportunity for a PURCHASE LEDGER CLERK to work for their multi award winning business at their SCUNTHORPE facility.

This forward-thinking organisation are offering initially a fixed term position for 6 months (maternity cover), joining an existing team of hardworking office support staff, within the financial department.

Upon joining the team, you will support the daily functions within the financial department. Helping to ensure the efficient running of the accounting policies and procedures are correctly operated.

You will be enthusiastic, energetic, motivated and hard working with excellent time keeping skills who enjoys working as part of a team as well as organised. This role will suit you if you are keen to maintain high standards and are methodical in your approach.

Job Summary

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day, 25 hours per week (flexible working hours)

Responsibilities

The following are a list of responsibilities for the Purchase Ledger Clerk jobs in Scunthorpe :

  • You will be required to create and update spreadsheets of daily transactions
  • Planning and managing time carefully to ensure all tasks are achieved
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable
  • Review and process reimbursements
  • Maintain reports on financial metrics
  • Keep and maintain consistently high standard of ledger maintenance in order to ensure that the accurate information is always available to aid in decision making
  • Ensuring all employment, environmental, health & safety, HMRC policies, practices and statutory legislation are strictly adhered to
  • Data entry and ensuring accurate and timely completion of administration processes to achieve company benchmark(s)
  • Answering of the telephone, taking messages and handling of enquiries / queries

Education

  • Proficient in English and have a good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Kerridge systems experience is desirable
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel

Experience

  • Purchase Ledge experience & a proven record is essential
  • Proven work experience within a finance department and/or similar (finance administrator/finance assistant or similar role)
  • Hands on experience with accounting software
  • Have a good work record and above average attendance
  • Motor trade experience is also desirable
