Our client, experts within the inspection and testing services sector, are offering an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to work within their team based near Immingham.

You will be joining a diverse team of specialists within their field as inspectors of commodities ranging from metals, raw materials, fuels and fertilisers, and operating in more than 40 countries upholding an exceptional reputation for providing reliable, professional services.

Purpose of the Job role

Carrying out sampling and sample preparation procedures in accordance with ASTM and ISO International standards. Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that an effective and high quality service is provided to meet reporting deadlines on the various types of commodities / samples submitted to the customer in the form or a report

You will principally execute the inspection and supervision of on-site activities, ensuring compliance is met in accordance with ISO 17025, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications and accreditations.

Job Summary

Hours of Work

  • Two shift patterns available:
  • Days, 0600 to 1800 – 4on/4off shift pattern
  • Nights, 1800 to 0600 – 4on/4off shift pattern


The following are a list of responsibilities for this role:

  • Ensuring at all times that a high degree of accuracy and precision is applied to methods and procedures through incorporating and promoting good standards of Health, Safety and Environment, in line with the company’s ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 standards
  • Responsible for ensuring that work throughput is followed in accordance with documented methods and procedures.
  • Advising the Operations Manager of any failure in compliance to documented methods and procedures.
  • Carry out the following as and when required: All aspects of Inspection / Sampling when the business needs. A requirement to travel to clients sites as indicated by the Management Team.
  • Processing relevant analytical data and checking of results prior to reporting
  • Ensuring that the operational work areas, work stations and vehicles are kept clean and tidy.
  • Prepared to travel and work nationally and internationally if necessary
  • Ensuring that all PPE is maintained appropriately
  • Accurately report stock movements in line with the operating procedures and methods.
  • Keep all operational equipment clean and tidy and report any damage to equipment to the Operations Manager
  • Collect samples, which will include driving a range of vehicles up to and including a 3.5 tonne Luton box van, ensure that vehicles used are driven safely and are returned clean and full of fuel (if required by the hire agreement).
  • Liaise with the customer’s representatives on a day to day basis and record any on site observations.
  • Report when new supplies or equipment are needed
  • Assist the Operations Manager in setting out and implementing cross training and extended training programmes to ensure the post holder is sufficiently well trained to carry out their responsibilities. Take full responsibility for own training records
  • Record and keep safe all Holding Certificates, whilst also maintaining confidentiality of data.
  • To liaise with the Client Services Operations Manager - Shipping and their team, to ensure that all work is covered and prioritised to customers’ expectations.
  • Ensuring the Company’s Health and Safety policy is applied


  • Highly proficient IT skills – Microsoft and Google applications
  • Full competency and understanding of Citrix
  • Good numeracy skills
