Job Description

Our well-established, and growing agricultural client, are looking to recruit a Seed Production Operative to work at their busy processing site based in the Grimsby area.

You will be joining a team of agricultural workers to support in the efficient and safe running of the seed processing section of the seed business. Our client works in partnership with arable, fruit, vegetable, horticultural and amenity sectors.

Working as the Seed Production Operator you will load and prepare seed for distribution as well as servicing and repairing machinery where necessary.

Job Summary

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday 42.5 Hours per week Overtime may be required weekend and bank holidays during the busy seasons.

Responsibilities

The following are a list of responsibilities for this role:

  • Working as a team member in an exciting fast-paced environment
  • Helping to ensure efficient and smooth running of operations
  • Preparing bulk bags for loading
  • Bagging off treated seed into 500kg and 1000kg bulk bags
  • Labelling and sealing bulk seed bags
  • Assisting with yard management and sampling, testing and tipping bulkers
  • General cleaning and maintenance of operational areas
  • Assist with product dispatch and stock management
  • Ensure stock records are kept up to date
  • Maintenance of machinery and equipment to the company standard
  • Cleaning As Grown seed to the required specifications
  • Treating seed through the chemical machine with accuracy
  • Adhere to the companies Health & Safety Policy

Education

  • Must hold a driving licence
  • Forklift truck licence is a desirable but not essential

Experience

  • Farming or agricultural background will be a distinct advantage
  • Mechanical and engineering experience
  • Manual handling experience

  • Must be physically fit due to the nature of the role
  • Able to work as a team member
  • MUST be willing to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
