Job Description

Our client, a successful privately-owned business and experts in the care sector, providing care services for the elderly, are offering an exciting, and dynamic opportunity for a Senior Carer to join their team in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

This company are a forward-thinking organisation, with employees spanning multiple sites, and due to continued growth they are offering permanent position(s) to join a new team of hardworking care staff to provide a first-class service within its care operations.

You will be joining a proactive company that offer a comprehensive list of facilities and services to its residents, therefore, you will be enthusiastic, energetic, motivated, and committed with excellent communication skills, enjoying working as part of a team.

Objective of the role:

Reporting into the Deputy Manager. You will provide leadership to the care staff, provide care in accordance with best practices. Supervise the care services in accordance with agreed standards. Maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as required.

Job Summary

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Sunday, working 5 days over a 7 day period – as agreed with the manager (35 hours)


The following are a list of responsibilities for this role:

  • Ensure service users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
  • Ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service
  • Supervise staff on site, organise and plan supervision and appraisals for care staff.
  • Providing and overseeing staff with support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks including bathing, eating, dressing, grooming and using the bathroom
  • Dispense medication
  • Induct and orientate new employees to the job role
  • Promote and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
  • Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the business
  • Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for service users
  • Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth
  • Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management
  • Maintain all care plans/care records in accordance with policies and procedures and audit care records following company policy to ensure compliance
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and ensuring compliance


  • Knowledge of rota planning, ensuring adequate staff on duty with correct skill mis and fair allocation of off duty/annual leave
  • RQF Diploma level 3 Health & Social Care
  • Supervisory and/or management qualification


  • Proven work experience as a Senior Carer and/or similar
  • Experience of working with service users, in particular those that may have additional support needs
