Job Description

An exciting opportunity to work for a reputable independent firm. We are excited to be looking for a talented and experienced Senior Recruitment Consultant to join our team in Scunthorpe and participate in the hiring process from beginning to end.

• Office & Home based working

You will be responsible for winning business, attracting and screening candidates, evaluating CVs, scheduling and conducting interviews, alongside managing associated hiring paperwork.

This role will suit you if you have a thorough knowledge of HR best practices, having innovative ideas, and an entrepreneurial outlook. It will be varied, pressured, and very much result driven. You will be joining a independently run business, thus will be a key cog in helping to drive the business forward, therefore we are looking for drive, ambition, and those with strong communication skills - you will largely be expected to manage your own workload.

On call rota

A smart personal appearance is important as the role involves meeting with clients and conducting interviews with candidates.

Job Summary

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday, 0830 to 1700 / On Call rota


The following are a list of responsibilities for this role:

  • Consult with clients to discover staffing requirements and specific job objectives
  • Write and post job descriptions on career platforms
  • Source candidates by using databases and social media
  • Use recruiting tools to assess candidates skills and their CVs
  • Conduct phone, skype and/or in person interviews
  • Requesting references and checking the suitability of applicants before submitting their details to the client
  • Update internal CRM software with activities throughout the day (calls, emails etc)
  • Maintain a complete record from start to end process
  • Negotiating pay and salary rates, finalising arrangements between client and candidates
  • Offering advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training, and career progression
  • Using sales, business development and networking to win new business
  • Build and develop positive relationships with both candidates and clients
  • Headhunting – identify and approach suitable candidates who may already be in work
  • Work towards and exceed targets that may relate to the number of candidates placed, a value to be billed to clients or business leads generated


  • Proven experience as a Senior Recruitment Consultant or similar position
  • Solid knowledge of HR policies and best practices
  • Previous sales, new business generation experience
