Job Summary

Hours of Work

  • 25 – 30 hours per week. Days and Nights


The following are a list of responsibilities for the Support Workers jobs in Scunthorpe :

  • To meet the day to day individual needs of each client, whilst acknowledging their privacy, dignity and promoting their independence and self-esteem
  • To maintain a healthy and safe environment, achieving the highest standards of care at all times
  • To assist in transporting and supporting people with Dementia to attend activities
  • To assist client with their mobility problems and other mental or physical disabilities such as cognition, continence, assistance in the care and use of aids
  • To assist with the administration of medicine
  • To record accurately in all documentation
  • To encourage and promote clients to maintain and achieve their full potential/independence, through the use of minimal support and supervision, and in recognition of their own abilities
  • To carry out any domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and shopping
  • Help client access community inclusion and/or attend activity sessions arranged by the company
  • To assist and promote acceptable standards of personal hygiene


  • NVQ in Health and Social Care
  • Dementia Friend/Dementia certification or qualification
  • Driving licence and own car


  • Previous experience within the care setting
  • Experience of supporting older adults

  • Good timekeeping and attendance is essential
  • Show enthusiasm within the role and a willingness to learn
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Caring nature, willing to undertake any jobs that are required
  • Good observation and communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative
